Australian Nexus ends deal for Crux liquids FPSO

Sydney-Nexus Energy has terminated an agreement with Vanguard Oil and Gas International and Viking Shipping for the supply of a floating production, storage and offloading facility for its Crux liquids project off Western Australia, the company said November 21. The agreement was signed in 2007 and has been terminated on the basis that the Crux joint venture was unable to proceed to a final investment decision with Viking as the FPSO provider, Nexus said in a statement. The Crux liquids project is operated and 85% held by Nexus. Japan's Osaka Gas owns the remaining 15%, acquired in August 2007 in a deal which valued the entire project at $500 million.
