Afren 'on track' for 21,000 b/d output from Nigeria

London-African-focused explorer Afren said on December 16 that production from its Okoro Setu field, offshore Nigeria, is on track to reach 21,000 b/d by year-end, but flagged possible lower capital spending next year. The company said production is averaging 18,500 b/d from six of seven wells currently drilled on the field. The seventh well is scheduled to come on line by year's end, pending the arrival of wellhead equipment, Afren said.
