Washington—US Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman will travel to five countries in the Mid- dle East next week, the Energy Department said January 10. Bodman’s trip is meant to “enhance” Washington’s relationship with oil producing nations, promote investment in conventional and alternative energy sources, and encour- age improvements in energy efficiency, the agency said. Bodman is scheduled to leave January 14 for Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Egypt, DOE said.
