Japan Energy ‘not worried’ about product supply drop

Tokyo—Japan Energy’s procurement of oil products is likely to be halved to about 1.5 million kiloliters (9.44 million barrels) in fiscal 2007-2008 (April-March) compared to the 3 million kl the refiner bought in the 2006-2007 fiscal year, a company official told Platts March 7. Though he declined to explain the reason for the sharp drop, industry sources said it was probably because Japan Energy faces a sharp cut in supply from Fuji Oil.
