Anadarko deal wins OK for Western Gas buy

New York-Large US independent Anadarko Petroleum August 8 said its proposed 4.7 billion purchase of Western Gas Resources has received US antitrust clearance.In a statement, Houston-based Anadarko said it expects to close the deal after regulatory clearance from the Wyoming Public Service Commission and Western shareholder approval at a special meeting set for August 23.
