Tepco, Tokyo Gas sign deal on LNG charter

Tokyo-Tokyo Electric Power Company reached an agreement in principle December 21 to charter LNG vessels with Tokyo Gas, a Tepco official said.Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will consider schemes to charter each company's LNG vessels for spot cargoes and improve the efficiency of their own tankers in serving the companies' existing contracts, the official said. Tepco currently has five LNG vessels, and Tokyo Gas has seven LNG tankers in operation, the official added.
