IEA hikes forecast for call on OPEC crude by 400,000 b/d

London-The International Energy Agency April 12 raised its estimate of the amount of oil OPEC needs to pump to balance supply and demand this year by 400,000 b/d to 29.4 million b/d as a result of upward revisions to oil demand data from non-OECD countries.In its latest monthly oil market report,the Paris-based advisor to major energy consumers made upward revisions to estimated oil demand in non-OECD countries for 2004,2005 and 2006.
