Rising production helps Italy's Eni to strong Ql results

Italy's Eni reported first quarter earnings of Eur2.44-bil (us3.12-bil),up from Eur2-bil a year ago helped by growing production,higher prices and stronger downstream performance.The Rome-based group said revenues rose 20% to Eurl6.7-bil in the quarter,up mostly from higher oil prices and 4.6% higher oil and gas production.
