EnCana to sell gas storage to Carlyle fund

Canadian upstream independent EnCana said March 6 it agreed to sell nearly all its natural gas storage holdings to the Car-lyle/Riverstone Global Energy and Power Fund for about US1.5 billion.Sale of those"noncore"assets,for an expected gain of US850 million after tax,is part of a previously announced EnCana divestiture program to focus the company on North American gas and in-situ oilsands plays,EnCana said.
