Newfoundland E&P round brings bids of 28.3 million

St. John's, Newfoundland-Oil companies have anted up C32.4 million (28.3 million) for exploration licences in the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore, the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (CNLOPB) announced late last week. Bids were received on six of the eight parcels in the tender, which closed November 15. Three of the successful bid parcels are in the Jeanne d'Arc Basin and the remaining three offshore Newfoundland's west coast.
