BP says 2004 earnings 1.3-bil higher based on new accounting standards

BP,Europe's biggest oil group,said Mar 14 it restated its 2004 earnings upward by 1.3-bil to reflect a move to newly adopted IFRS accounting standards from existing UK GAAP rules.While all BP's key performance targets remain unaffected,BP said it will cut its debt gearing target as a result to realign it with adjusted capital employed figures.
