New York-Bankrupt Flying J has received "several final bids" for its 66,000 b/d Big West Oil refinery in Bakersfield, California, with a lead buyer expected to emerge in no later than a month, CEO Crystal Call Maggelet said September 1.Executives at the Ogden, Utah-based company, which filed for bankruptcy in late 2C08, "hope to have a stalking horse bidder within two to four weeks," Maggelet told Platts in an interview. "That's wrapping up...we're working with several bidders" now, she said. She declined to name potential bidders, but said prospective buyers have been "a mixed bag" of strategic industry prospects and private equity firms. "There's definitely still some private equity looking at Bakersfield," she said.
