KazMunaiGaz snaps up remainder of Rompetrol

London-Kazakhstan s state-owned KazMunaiGaz has bought the remaining 25% in Romanian refiner Rompetrol for an estimated $1.2 billion, taking its ownership of the company to 100%, KazMunaiGaz said June 26. The sale was conducted as a private transaction and was based on the terms of the initial share purchase agreement signed in August 2007, it said. At that time, KazMunaiGaz paid a reported $3.62 billion for the 75% stake, valuing the entire company at around $4.8 billion.
