NYMEX crude settles $1.15 lower on weak equities

NYMEX September crude futures settled $1.15/barrel lower Tuesday at $69.45/b with weaker equity markets and bearish technical considerations behind a sell-off which is into its third day.US equity indexes pared losses following the results of the US Treasury's $37 billion three-year note auction. The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.89 compared to 2.52 in the previous three-year note auction while the yield was 1.78%, lower than what traded prior to the auction.
