Gasoline: RBOB hits a new high

US Atlantic Coast spot RBOB gasoline prices climbed 6.78 cents Tuesday to a new high of 3.3194/gal as assessed by Platts, as gasoline markets kept pace with rallying crude futures. Despite weak fundamentals for the gasoline markets in the US and elsewhere, strong global demand for distillates continued to underpin rallying crude futures, which in turn pulled RBOB NYMEX futures with it, traders said.
