New York Harbor ULSD cash differentials firmed 3.25 cents/gal Thursday on increased buying demand amid few sellers, market sources said. There has been a dearth of refinery selling in the market this week, according to sources. US demand for diesel in April jumped 15.2% to 3.159 million b/d, according to a monthly report released Wednesday by the American Petroleum Institute. In addition, the Energy Information Administration reported Monday that the average US price for on-high-way retail diesel reached a record 4.33/gal, up 18.2 cents from a week earlier.
