US refinery runs jump to highest in 8 months

New York-US gross refinery inputs climbed 281,000 b/d to 15.915 million b/d last week,the highest level since the week ended September 22,2006,as refineries returned to service,par ticularly along the Gulf Coast,an analysis of the weekly Energy Information Administration showed May 23.With output of refined prod ucts up across the board,total US product stocks climbed 4.5 million barrels to 657.7 million barrels for the week ended May 18.At 657.7 million barrels,total product stocks were 672,000 barrels above the five-year aver age but 13.662 million barrels below year-ago levels,the EIA data showed.
