US January trade deficit widened to a near-record US58.3-bil as crude oil imports edged up,according to data released Friday by the Department of Commerce.The trade deficit set a record US59.415toil in November due to a revision in previously-released data.Average crude oil imports jumped 56,000 b/d to an average 10.413-mil b/d while energy-related petroleum products climbed 2.959-mil bbl to 416.36&mil bbl.
