March resid deliveries jump on soaring natgas prices:API

Continued high natural gas prices have triggered increased interest in residual fuel oil by industry and utilities as they switched fuel sources in the first quarter to boost resid deliveries to the 1-mil b/d mark for the first time in more than a decade.As a result,first quarter deliveries of resid jumped more than 23% from the same period last year and 32% for the month of March,the American Petroleum Institute said in its monthly statistical survey for March released Apr 13.
