North American production of cars and light trucks rebounded from a 24% m-o-m decline in July to a strong 41% m-o-m increase in August. Year-to-date, automotive production totals nearly 11 million units, and is 2.3% higher than the first eight months of 2012. However, we observed last month that US sales of cars and light trucks had been declining and days' supply rising.
