Aerospace flat to down due to inventory destocking

Aerospace plate demand is flat-to-down slightly this year despite rising aircraft production. Our contactsreport that while contract business continues as normal, spot business is down (year to date orders forplate are down 1.4%). Inventory in a very long and complex supply chain for aircraft OEMs has built upexcess in the last 5 years, and together with model change overs have increased the supply chain focus.
