We present electron diffraction and high-resolution electron microscopy measurements characterizing the structure of a Bi-based layered manganite. The crystal structure of Bi0.75Ca3.25Mn3O10 is orthorhombic and A centered (space group A2(1)22), with lattice parameters a congruent tob = 0.55 nm and c=2.78 nm. High-resolution electron microscopy reveals a well-defined 4310-type layered structure, identified as a member of the Bi-based Ruddlesden-Popper series with n = 3. [References: 22]
