Bosnia's regional government has annulled a tender for an 88% majority stake in its sole aluminium smelter, the 135,000 tpy Aluminij Mostar plant. Glencore International AG,-Swiss-based commodities trader and the top bidder for the stake, set cheap power supplies as a condition for the bid, however the government refused to provide those benefits, arguing that the smelter was qualified to purchase power under commercial prices. Sell-off talks have also been delayed over ownership and environmental issues.
