Hydro has announced that the 585,000 tpy Qatalum smelter is expected to re-start production by mid-September. Full production is expected to be reached by the end of Q1 2011. The plant was originally expected to reach full production by the end of Q4 2010, but the plant's forced idling in August put paid to those plans. The new target for full production implies a 3-4 months delay over the original schedule, compared to CRU's forecast of 5-6 months.
