MRPL Near End of Phase 3 Expansion; PP Plant Completion Seen by October

New Delhi— Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL), a subsidiary of India's Oil and Natural Gas Corp., announced that as of 15 July 2014 it had achieved an overall progress of 99.74% on its Phase 3 expansion project in Mangalore, India (PCN, 25 Jan 2010, p 3). The project involved an expansion of the Mangalore refinery to 15-million t/y from 9.69-million t/y and construction of a 440,000-t/y polypropylene (PP) plant. Mechanical completion on the PP facility is expected by this October, MRPL noted.
