Bahrain's GPIC Seeks Gas Allocation To Expand NH3 and Urea Capacity

Manama—Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) of Bahrain is hopeful of securing an allocation of gas from the government to support a planned ammonia and urea expansion, according to Gulf Daily News. The proposed $1.5-billion expansion will require an additional 95-million cubic feet of gas to add 2,400 t/d of ammonia and 3,200 t/d of urea capacity, more than doubling GPIC's current capacity, noted GPIC President Abdulrah-man Jawahery.
