PTTGC and Marubeni Select Ohio Site For Possible Ethane Cracker Project

Columbus—Ohio Governor John R. Kasich announced that PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) and Marubeni Corp. have selected a site in Belmont County, Ohio, for the possible construction of a joint venture world-scale ethane cracker. PTTGC recently said it was considering three U.S. sites that would have easy access to shale gas for a $4.5-billion project, which is expected to produce 1-million t/y of ethylene (PCN, 2 Mar 2015, p 2).
