IOC Launches Negotiations with KPC For Equity Stake in Paradip Project

New Delhi— Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) has started talks with Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC) concerning KPC's acquisition of an equity interest in IOC's refinery and planned petrochemical complex in Paradip, India (PCN, 13 May 2013, p 2). IOC has been appointed the anchor tenant for the Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) being established in Paradip and is currently completing a 15-million-t/y refinery as part of a complex for which IOC is also building a polypropylene plant and considering a naphtha cracker and paraxylene facility.
