Sabic Nearing Geleen Project Completion On Olefins 4 Naphtha Cracker Upgrade

Geleen— Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (Sabic) said it is starting the final stage of its Olefins 4 naphtha cracker upgrade in Geleen, the Netherlands, and expects the plant to reopen early next month (PCN, 23 Apr 2012, p 1). The ?135-million upgrade will "transform the cracker into one of the best in Europe, on energy consumption, increasing capacity and delivering further safety and environmental enhancements," the company noted.
