BPCL Offering LG Chem a 51% Interest In Company's First Petrochem Project

Kochi-Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) plans to offer LG Chem a 51% interest in the Rs 6,000 crore petrochemical complex that BPCL plans to set up in Kochi, India (PCN, 24 Sept 2012, p 1). BPCL and LG have signed a memorandum of understanding to build a fluid catalytic cracker at Kochi to produce 500,000 t/y of polymer-grade propylene for the production of petrochemicals currently being imported, including polypropylene and acrylic acid.
