Opec kingpin Saudi Arabia, the world's top crude oil exporter, plans to shed dependency on oil revenues by as early as 2020 as part of an all-encompassing strategy to transform and diversify the Middle East's biggest economy, its Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced Monday. "The kingdom can live in 2020 without any dependence on oil ... The Saudi addiction to oil has disturbed development of many sectors in past years," Prince Mohammed, who is in charge of economic policy, said in an interview broadcast on Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya TV (OD Apr.4'16).
