Oil drilling activity in the US declined for a sixth - straight week as producers continue to scale back their operations in response to low oil prices. The number of rigs drilling for oil in the US fell by nine in the week ended Oct. 9 to a total of 605, according to data from oil - field services firm Baker Hughes.
