Peru Replaces Energy Minister

President Ollanta Humala of Peru has named a new energy minister as part of a broad cabinet reshuffle. The move comes a week after the deposed minister appeared to take the side of demonstrators protesting against exploration activities carried out by Argentina's Pluspetrol in the Amazon jungle. On Tuesday Humala named Rosa Maria Ortiz as his new minister of energy and mines. Ortiz replaces Eleodoro Mayorga, who had served in the role since February of 2014.
