Matador to Shelve Eagle Ford Drilling This Year

Matador Resources plans to shelve all new drilling in the prolific Eagle Ford Shale play of South Texas this year as it cuts its 2015 capital spending budget in response to sagging US oil and natural gas prices. The Dallas-based independent said that over the next few months it will release both of its drilling rigs in the Eagle Ford, where the company holds just over 29,000 net acres and produced about 10,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day (73% oil) during the third quarter of 2014.
