Mexico’s government, responding to concerns from oil companies that the proposed contract terms initially offered in the country’s ongoing bid round are uncompetitive, is preparing to release a modified proposal within the next few weeks. Speaking recently on a webcast sponsored by the Institute of the Americas, Lourdes Melgar, undersecretary for hydrocarbons in the energy ministry, said the government is aiming to release a second draft of the productionsharing contract (PSC) terms in March.
