An effort to attach repeal of the ban on most exports of US crude oil to a key transportation bill has failed in the House of Representatives, cutting off one of the few remaining paths for repeal legislation to pass by the end of this year. A group of representatives from oil - producing states had introduced two separate amendments that would have added repeal of the ban to the bill, but neither made it past a procedural hurdle in the House Rules Committee.
