Vaca Muerta Shale Output Seen Doubling by 2018

Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale play looks set to double its production by 2018, but substantial investments will be needed in the future to unlock its full potential, according to a study by Edinburgh - based oil and gas consultancy Wood Mackenzie. The study pegs the play's annual production at 47,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2015 and projects that it will rise to nearly 100,000 boe/d in 2018.
