Wyoming Well Finds Niobrara Oil

US minnow Double Eagle Petroleum said a vertical well in southern Wyoming achieved a 24-hour initial production (IP) rate of 467 boe/d from the Niobrara formation, of which 70% was crude oil. This was the first well to test the Niobrara in the Atlantic Rim area, where Double Eagle also has producing wells in the deeper Frontier and Dakota natural gas formations.
