Comstock Enters Tuscaloosa Marine Shale

Comstock Resources is looking to expand its liquids-focused drilling program outside the South Texas Eagle Ford Shale, with the US independent agreeing the purchase of 53,000 net acres in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale play for $54.5 million. Comstock says the acreage, which sits in southern Louisiana and Mississippi, is in the proximity of successful wells drilled by other industry players. No sellers were disclosed.
