Kinder Morgan may find it difficult to obtain the required provincial permits for the proposed expansion of its Trans Mountain crude oil pipeline, if the socialist New Democratic Party (NDP) wins the election in British Columbia on May 14, as seems likely (OD Apr.17'13). Trans Mountain, which runs from Edmonton to a marine terminal near Vancouver on the Pacific Coast, has attracted less attention than other proposed pipelines originating in Alberta.
