With high gasoline prices a hot issue in Washington and across the country these days, lawmakers hope to attach a host of energy measures to a reauthorization of federal transportation funding which is due to expire at the end of this month. Some of the proposals are related to transportation -- such as an extension of tax credits for natural gas vehicles -- and some are not -- such as a plan to push through an approval of TransCanada's Keystone XL crude pipeline project.
