RWE Eyes Ukrainian Black Sea

Germany’s RWE has expressed an interest in jointly exploring the eastern sector of the Black Sea with Chernomorneftegas, the Black Sea subsidiary of Ukraine’s Naftogas. “Located on the Black Sea shelf is the Luchitsky field, which is part of the area that is to be studied together with RWE,” said Peter Maksimchuk, the deputy head of subsoil and development of unconventional oil and gas resources with Naftogas. “We have been exchanging material for a year and a half with them [and] we have showed them the geology of the entire area.”
