Fekola prefeasibility study shows viable Malian gold project

Papillon Resources Ltd has released the results of a prefeasibility study (PFS) on the Fekola gold project in southwestern Mali that estimates a 306,000oz/y open-pit mine that would cost US$292 million to build, including a 15% contingency. The capital cost is US$6 million less than a July 2012 scoping study estimate, although the annual production forecast has increased significantly from the previous 231,000oz/y life of mine estimate.
