Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has opened an investigation into suspected financial irregularities at the Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (HKMEx), itannounced on May 23. The investigation was launched on May15, but was announced only after HKM Ex voluntarily suspended all automated trading services on May 20 in response to weaktrading volumes on its flagship gold contract.
