Vale Inco declared force majeure at its Sudbury and Voisey's Bay nickel and cobalt operations last week due to the three-weekstrike there, traders told MB. "This happened last Friday [July 31], although it wasn't common knowledge. They went out to their major customers and told them they'd declared force majeure," a trader said. Workers at the Sudbury mine have been on strike since July 13 after rejecting the company's contract offer.
