Chinese copper smelters end half-year TC/RCs talks with BHP

Chinese smelters, including Tongling Nonferrous Metals Co and subsidiary Jinlong Copper Co, will stop half-year copperTC/RCs (treatment and refining charges) negotiations with overseas mines, but will still participate in the 2009 annual talks later this year, smelting sources in China told MB. Tongling and other small smelters, such as Yantai Penghui Copper Co, hold contract negotiations with mines on a six-monthly basis, with the next contract due to start on July 1.
