Chinese silico-manganese and high carbon ferro-manganese prices have continued to decline over the past week as stocks rise and steelmakers clamp down on prices, market participants said. "Steelmakers have been trying to dampen the recent surge in manganese alloys prices by only giving quite low offers, as the Chinese steel market is under pressure now with steel prices weakening and exports slowing down," said a metal trader from Shanghai.
