German secondary aluminium producer Metallhuttenwerke Bruch GmbH has secured a financial investor after the Bruch family, which owns and founded the company, threw it a financial lifeline. A promise of financial support from the Bruch family, which set the company up in 1919, helped to convince an unidentified investor to come on board, the company said. The news comes after a hefty restructuring programmer implemented in 2004 and a search, which was eventually ditched, for a strategic investor. "Following a significant capital increase from [the Bruch family], a financial investor has now also decided - after a detailed review of the perspectives for the future - to support the growth of the Bruch Group," it said.
