Antimony consumers have booked material at lower numbers in the first two weeks of January, as the metal continues to retrace its price rally of 2002. Spot consumer business of over 100 tonnes was reported this week at around 2,100-2,200 dollars per tonne on an in warehouse Rotterdam basis. Market players quoted US antimony in a range of 2,300-2,700 dollars. While inter-merchant business has carried on in the mid-2,000s dollars for much of November and December 2002, significant spot consumer business at below 2,700 dollars was almost non-existent.
