Robe River starts building West Angelas stockpile

SYDNEY - Iron ore mining at the West Angelas project - owned by Rio Tinto subsidiary Robe River Iron Associates - has started and the operation will be officially opened in late August.The emphasis now is on building up a significant stockpile at Cape Lambert and a trial shipment will be sent to Japan later this month, a spokesman for Rio Tinto said on may 22. The first commercial shipments will begin in July.
